Karnig Greg Dukmajian is an associate attorney at Phillips, Lerner & Lauzon, L.L.P., in Los Angeles, where he specializes in all aspects of family law, including dissolution of marriage, child custody, spousal and child support and other related issues involving family law matters.
Karnig, who also goes by Greg, joined the firm in 2006 as a summer law clerk. Prior to returning to the firm as an attorney in 2007, Karnig broadened his family law experience as an intern at the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law, where he assisted indigent clients navigate their divorce and paternity lawsuits. He also worked in two separate capacities at the Office of the City Attorney of Los Angeles, first as an intern assisting victims of domestic violence in the Victim Assistance division, and later as an extern gaining civil litigation experience in the Civil Liability Management division.
Graduating summa cum laude with a near 4.0 cumulative grade point average, Karnig earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from California State University, Northridge, in 2004. Having finished first in the political science department, he was awarded the Judge Julian Beck Award for Outstanding Graduating Senior in Political Science as well as the Lonnie Turner Award for Outstanding Junior in Political Science. He was also awarded the Valley Community Legal Educational Scholarship by the San Fernando Valley Bar Association. In 2007, Karnig earned a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where he held a coveted position as Note and Comment Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review.
Upon graduation, Karnig has found it important to maintain his ties to Loyola Law School, returning in 2009 as a panelist on the Young Professionals Alumni Panel. As a lawyer, he has gained the respect of his peers, having been selected in 2010 as a “Rising Star” in the family law practice in Southern California Super Lawyers - Rising Stars Edition. Karnig has authored articles that have appeared in the Daily Journal, California Family Law Monthly, as well as the Los Angeles Times. He volunteers his time to various organizations in the community and is fluent in Armenian.
