West, an expert in family law law-and-motion matters, was employed as one of three handpicked research attorneys at Los Angeles Superior Court, Central District, for approximately two years working on family law and motion matters for judges and commissioners. Considered a top family law practitioner who is known among her peers for her discovery work, Ms. West has a keen interest in custody issues. She joined Phillips, Lerner, Lauzon & Jamra in March, 2003. A member of the Los Angeles County and Beverly Hills Bar Associations, Ms. West has worked as a contract attorney in the areas of family law and general civil litigation. She began her career as Deputy Attorney General in the Civil Division of the Office of the Attorney General, State of California. A resident West Los Angeles, Ms. West earned her juris doctorate and graduated cum laude from Loyola University School of Law in 1976. She graduated in 1972 with a bachelor of arts summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she majored in Slavic languages and literatures and minored in political science.
